Diagnostic Laboratory Network Course: The US has developed formal veterinary diagnostic networks as a means to standardize laboratory testing methods and streamline communications between regional and central/reference laboratories. The U.S.
National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) was used as a model for analysis and training case study in this course.
As a result of this training, participants gained skills and abilities necessary to support laboratory network strengthening in their own countries and to better comply with World Organization for Animal Health guidelines for diagnosis and reporting of animal diseases.
The training was centered around and took advantage of the Quality management Systems training NAHLN was conducting for state cooperators.
Networking provides a more extensive infrastructure of facilities, equipment and personnel to address animal disease outbreaks or surveillance testing.
