11th International Transboundary Animal Disease Course - The ITAD course combines classroom and laboratory exercises enabling participants to first review the etiology of the specific transboundary animal disease being studied and then observe selected diseases in the laboratory.
During the two weeks of the course, participants conduct clinical examinations of animals inoculated with selected transboundary animal diseases (TADs) and later perform full necropsies under the direction of USDA foreign animal disease experts.
This experience of observing the clinical symptoms and then conducting hands-on necropsies provides the most comprehensive and practical way to study these diseases.
There were twenty three participants from the following countries: Armenia, China, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Cameroon, Kenya, Haiti, India, Korea, Mexico, Peru, Russia, S. From 09/19/2011 to 10/01/2011.
