The 2025 Meeting on Applied Algebraic Geometry (MAAG) is a southeastern regional conference focused on the interactions of algebraic geometry with other fields, and will take place at Auburn University from April 12-13, 2025. By partnering with Clemson University and Georgia Tech, MAAG seeks to further solidify a local network of support among applied algebraic geometers.
The conference structure is designed to spark new collaborations and research by allowing ample time for discussions and networking. MAAG has time set apart for shorter talks from graduate students and postdocs, allowing mentorship from senior participants.
Conference speakers will survey new developments within the quickly-evolving field of applied algebraic geometry. Research talks will be given by experts in algebraic statistics, numerical algebraic geometry, coding theory, and power networks. Applications to computer algebra, biology, and data science will also be presented.
In addition, the conference will feature coding demonstrations and implementations of algorithms. For further information, see the conference website: https://johndcobb.github.io/organizing/MAAG2025/.
This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
