Grant Description
Special Investigation Unit (SIU) 6 Advanced Course, El Salvador; This one-week advanced training course is designed for SIU commanders responsible for supervising units.
The course addresses all core topics from a SIU managers perspective which includes the following; management of SIU, DEA oversight of program, operational planning, critical incident response, risk management, officer safety, leadership, ethics and professionalism in law enforcement, confidential source management, the supervision of enforcement operations, as well as the identification of trends associated with narco-terrorism.
The course is conducted via a workshop environment and also encourages SIU commanders and DEA management to exchange information in order to make important decisions needed to improve the SIU program
