The PhD candidate will be working with a highly multi-disciplinary team to develop a continuum mechanics multi-framework capable of hosting multiple numerical methods for solving computational problems that involve the interaction of multiple states of matter (solid, gas, liquid, etc.).
The novelty of this work is developing the algorithms for deciding which numerical method and framework to be applied at different regions of the computational domain for obtaining the highly-accurate physically meaningful results in a computational efficient manner.
