This doctoral dissertation research studies the dynamics of workforce development. In addition to providing scientific training for a graduate student in anthropology, the project will inform understandings of corporate-community relations and contribute to the knowledge base that addresses the economic and societal variations in the workforce experience.
In order to understand workforce dynamics, the investigators utilize multimodal methods that include audio-visual outputs, semi-structured interviews, and behavioral observations. The research expands the anthropological science of workforce development and makes clear contributions to economic anthropology.
This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
