Chinese Government signs agreement for interest-free loan to Sudan On June 12, 2008, Awad Ahmed al-Jaz, Sudan’s Minister of Finance and National Economy, and Shi Quangsheng, Chinese Minister of Trade, signed an agreement for China to provide an interest-free loan to Sudan.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, Sudan's Vice-President and Xi Jinping, China's Vice-President. The loan amount, sector, start and end dates are unknown.
