Grant Description

On 8 December, 2007, the Chinese Ambassador and Sudanese Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid signed an agreement donating 600 million RMB of humanitarian aid to the Government of Sudan.

The purpose of this aid was to encourage resettlement of displaced Sudanese in "voluntary repatriation villages." The aid includes tents, mobile schools and equipment for water and health projects.

The second batch of materials worth 60 million was delivered in January 2008 (Record ID#2407) and a subsequent batch worth 20 million RMB was delivered in February 2008 (Record ID#85299).

Due to the urgent nature of this project, AidData assumes the entire 600 million RMB was spent even though we do not have projects recording every donation.
