Grant Description

In 2006, the Chinese Government pledged that it would cancel some of the Government of Benin’s outstanding debt obligations. The agreement came to fruition in early 2007 during Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing's seven nation tour through Africa. The amount of debt that was cancelled is unknown.
