The goal for the diversifying resilience approaches through market systems-in emergencies (dreams-Malawi) is to alleviate human suffering, save lives and livelihoods, and reduce the physical, social, and economic impact of multiple (slow-onset and rapid) disasters.
This aligns with USAID/BHAs mission to save lives, alleviate human suffering, and reduce the impact of disasters by helping people in need become more resilient to humanitarian crises.
This will be achieved by supporting at-risk households in building stable foundations for their journey to self-reliance through integrated and mutually reinforcing sectors, detailed in the table below.
