The USAID-funded Adolescent Health Activity (AHA) in Bangladesh aims to improve the health and well-being of adolescents by strengthening services for them and their families.
The project's intended beneficiaries are young adolescents (ages 1014) in divisions with a high rate of early childbearing.
The AHA's goals include: Improving access: Helping adolescents access high-quality information, safe services, and livelihood opportunities.
Strengthening services: Improving essential services for adolescents and their families, and institutionalizing effective solutions.
Encouraging delayed marriage: Helping adolescents exercise their right to postpone marriage and avoid early childbearing.
Reducing inequity: Evaluating how gaps disproportionately affect adolescents from ethnic minorities, members of the LGBQTIA+ community, and other demographics.
