Brucellosis control strategies must be optimized for the target context.
However, there is a dearth of data on the biological, ecological, social, and cultural factors that influence brucellosis spread in sub-saharan africa.
There are also gaps in understanding the leverage points to influence individuals, communities, and national systems to enact measures to improve the control of disease.
The key objective of this activity is to develop quantitative and qualitative tools such as epidemiological models and social and behavior change research to inform the design of evidence- and risk-based control measures. This evidence will also complement future technical innovations such as improved vaccines, diagnostics, and treatments.
