Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA)

HESSA will support Pakistani higher education through institutional strengthening resulting in a better trained workforce, leading to improved economic outcomes.

This activity will build on past investments, such as the Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program, the Centers for Advanced Studies Project, and other past USAID interventions in higher education.

The activity will utilize evidence-based best practices learned in the Asia region, global higher education, and U.S. higher education to increase the Pakistani higher education systems capacity to sustainably manage and enhance equitable access to quality higher education services, particularly for marginalized communities, especially women, students from underserved areas, and people with disabilities.

HESSA will also be responsive to the needs of industries, the business community, and sectors contributing to Pakistans economic growth at-large.
