The development challenges this project addresses relate to limited financial and operative means of the Republic of Serbia for COVID-19 prevention and control, including for undertaking a massive immunization process in as short a timespan as possible, in order to secure herd immunity against the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is a challenge practically all countries in the world are facing now, attempting to secure means to put in place ad hoc measures, going beyond typical strategies, to protect their citizens from the spread of COVID-19 and organize and implement a massive immunization process.
Reaching herd immunity means an end to the pandemic, saving of lives and preservation of health, revival of economies, return to educational, cultural, sports and other social activities.
Countries, including the Republic of Serbia, are in a race against time, investing into stronger health systems, preventive measures and vaccination of their population.
