National Womens Business Agendas for Central Asia A Women Empowered Realizing Inclusive & Sustainable Economies (WE RISE) Initiative under the Women and Girls Empowered (WAGE) Program is a two-year-long project to establish National Womens Business Agendas (NWBAs) in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan and work on businesswomens priorities in Turkmenistan, as a part of the Initiative under the existing WAGE Program cooperative agreement.
This project, using its proven National Womens Business Agenda (NWBA) model, launches a long-term and sustainable process of removing economic barriers for women by raising awareness of the unique challenges of women-owned businesses and advocating for policy change.
A diverse group of stakeholders identifies the barriers to womens participation in commerce, offers recommendations for reform, and advocates their recommendations with governing authorities through public-private dialogue.
Training activities will include the five legal and regulatory reform areas of the Womens Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiatives Third Pillar Women Enabled in the Economy; 1) accessing institutions, 2) accessing capital and credit, 3) lifting restrictions on possessing and managing property, 4) addressing constraints on womens freedom of movement, and 5) eliminating barriers that limit working hours, occupations or tasks.
