Grant Description

The Activity will support institutional coordination in the forestry sector through strengthening and developing forest management systems that will improve oversight and traceability on forestry sourcing. This will contribute to an enabling environment for the development of market-based solutions in the sector.

The overarching outcomes are: Outcome 1: Mexicos forest management system strengthened to improve transparency and legality of raw materials and forest products, and to reduce GHG emissions; Outcome 2: Improved sustainable NR practices at the community level. The Activity will improve sustainable land management and reduce illegal logging.

Monitoring and evaluation methodologies will be developed to measure progress and will be included in the MEL plan of the Activity.
