Grant Description
Chinese Government provides USD 10 million loan to Sudanese Government for acquisition of pumps, irrigation equipment, and generators in 2003 On August 1, 2003, the Chinese Government provided a USD 10 million loan to the Government of Sudan for the purchase of pumps, irrigation equipment, and generators.
Part of the loan funds were also earmarked for the construction of a workshop to maintain the equipment.
Additionally, loan proceeds would partially finance a USD 11 million commercial contract signed on August 8, 2003 with Boshan Pump Industry Co., Ltd (also known as Shandong Sure Boshan Pump Industry Co., Ltd.).
Repayment was scheduled to begin on September 1, 2004.
