Grant Description

Through the "Rights for Gender Diverse Populations" (RGDP) Activity, USAID/Bangladesh will expand its work to promote and protect human rights of gender diverse populations, and sensitize policy makers and other stakeholders to improve the enabling environment.

The new activity will work with gender diverse populations to increase their knowledge of how they can access public services, access justice, and exercise their rights.

The activity will conduct research on gaps in knowledge about stigma levels in educational institutions, provide non-formal education, organize a job fair for the hijra (transgender community) population, and provide mental healthcare to gender diverse populations.

Sensitization initiatives will also be included to involve hijras, religious leaders, lawyers, political leaders, members of law enforcement agencies, and relevant stakeholder.
