Under the Multi-dimensional Economic Legal Reform Assistance Program (MELRA), the U.S Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) provides technical assistance to the Government of Afghanistan (GoA) to address the country's complex challenges and unlock its unrealized potential in mining and trade.
MELRA provides direct policy and regulatory assistance to the GoA with legal and economic reforms aimed at spurring economic growth.
CLDP's assistance is primarily focused on areas related to trade compliance and negotiations; information and communications technology sector development; mining laws, regulations, and contractual framework; corruption-free customs for air cargo export facilitations; and business enabling environment.
