Build the capacity of governments and civil society for effective, orderly, and humane migration management policies and systems at the national and regional levels, including programs and activities to protect and assist vulnerable migrants.
This includes support to the United Israel Appeal, under which the U.S. government provides assistance for the resettlement in Israel of humanitarian migrants from the former Soviet Union, countries in Eastern Europe, Africa and the Near East, and other countries of distress.
Jews who face anti-Semitism and risks to their safety are resettled to an environment where their religion and ethnicity are in the majority, with assistance to achieve self-sufficiency and integrate into Israeli society.
