Purpose: To conduct research on fish to contribute to the needs of small scale fish producers and processors, and stakeholders along fish value chain.
The FTFIL for Fish will conduct research along the aquaculture value chain using a country-led process to define the program's research priorities.
The project draws on the expertise of US universities and developing country research institutions to address the GFSS goal of reducing global hunger, malnutrition, and poverty. Activities: Research across the biophysical and social sciences on fish with a global program scope.
The research project will focus on research activities and results; increase collaboration between the Management Entity, Asia, Africa and Central America partners; explore collaboration opportunities with other Innovation Labs as well as private industry partnerships in the area of fish meal replacement in fish feed, fish genetic improvement, nutrition, food safety, income generation, gender and youth.
