Grant Description

The purpose of Energy Security Project (ESP) is to provide reliable, resilient, and secure energy to all Ukrainians as means to strengthen Ukraine's energy security and bolster its national sovereignty (JRS 2.3).

ESP has three primary objectives: 1) the establishment of competitive energy markets in the electricity, gas, and district heating sectors; 2) improvements to energy policy and strategy of Ukraine; and, 3) diversification of Ukraine's energy supply.

ESP will provide assistance to improve the legal and regulatory frameworks to comply with European Union (EU) energy legislation, thereby facilitating Ukraine's integration into the EU electricity and gas markets.

ESP will also develop new incentive mechanisms for increasing sustainable generation of renewable energy through private-led investments.
