The activity will provide engineering oversight and management of the Zara Ma'in water supply rehabilitation project.
The Zara Ma'in Water Treatment Plant, is a USAID funded project which is critical to the water supply of approximately 6 million Jordanians in Amman and Zarqa.
Originally a $135 million project funded by USAID and completed in 2006, the system supplies 80% of Amman's potable water.
In addition, the activity will allow USAID to carry out critical rehabilitation of several pumps, and provide pre-contract services and construction management to oversee construction works of the installation of new pumps and other rehabilitation. As a result, the 6 million citizens of Amman and Zarqa depend on Zara Ma'in for safe water.
