USAID Partnership for Education: Innovating activity supports the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ghana Education Service's (GES) literacy and numeracy activities. Innovating mobilizes parents, communities, civil society, and the private sector to improve reading achievement.
With FY 2017 funds, it will collect household-level data on reading achievement and conduct a midline survey on household-level attitudes and practices that engender improved reading achievement and build a culture of reading in communities of five target regions.
The activity conducted a baseline survey of reading knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) in its first year of implementation.
The results of this survey will be used to develop media campaigns and community-level initiatives to improve reading behaviors and build a culture of reading.
The survey will be re-conducted at the activity's mid-line to inform and adapt programming, and again at end-line to measure change in reading behaviors.
