The THALI Project implemented by the World Health Partners will work with the national TB program, municipal government of the city of Kolkata, private sector health care providers and development partners to address the high rates of TB infection, including drug-resistant TB, and illness and death in urban populations, especially the urban poor.
Activities include supporting TB care and prevention in multiple urban slums of Kolkata; increasing case notification and ensuring adherence throughout the course of treatment; implementation of infection control measures at private health care facilities; enable access to diagnosis and treatment for multi-drug resistant TB; and fund TB prevention and screening drives through private sector engagement.
