Grant Description

Malawi Early Grade Reading Improvement Activity (MERIT) will assist the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to improve the reading skills of students in Standards 1-3.

Reading assessments consistently show Malawi ranking at the bottom in the Southern African Development Community region for primary student reading skills. EGRI will work in districts that are beyond the reach of current USAID/Malawi-funded reading interventions.
