Grant Description

Through regional mechanisms, USAID will provide missions and USAID/Washington with the tools and capacity to quickly respond to ongoing transitions with planning and programs in areas related to political transitions and the fluid security environment.

Efforts would include facilitating the sharing of best practices and innovations among civil society across the region, and countering violent extremism and conflict mitigation.

Mechanisms will enable USAID to draw upon regional expertise to tailor programming to region-specific dynamics and will seek to develop regional capacity.

Programming will promote transparent and participatory democratic processes, counter violent extremist threats in a targeted manner, and address broad conflict mitigation and reconciliation needs. Every effort will be made to seek local partners who can participate in implementation.
