Grant Description

Children Tariro (CT) aims to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS on Zimbabwe's children by enhancing care and support services for orphans and vulnerable children under the National Action Plan for OVC (NAPII).

The objectives of the activity are 1) Strengthen the capacity of communities and local service providers to support vulnerable families and children; 2) Strengthen the capacity of vulnerable households to care for children; 3) Strengthen the capacity of the public sector social service system to support vulnerable families and children; and 4) Strengthen the capacity of communities to support vulnerable children and their families to access prevention, care and treatment of HIV services.

FACT Children Tariro OVC program employs a systemic approach which builds on Department of Child Welfare and Protection Services (DPWPS) strategy and FACTs integrated Community Care of OVC model of offering wrap around services to children and their families.
