USAID, the Coca-Cola Company, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation established an alliance called Project Last Mile (PLM) which leverages the proprietary business intelligence and experience of the Coca-Cola system to improve access to life-saving medicines and critical medical supplies at the "last mile" of African nations.
PLM is working with African governments and partners in 8 countries, including South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
