Grant Description

The Human Rights in Action Program promotes and cultivates a culture of respect for human rights in Ukraine by creating a safe environment for human rights defenders and providing tools to prevent the infringement of human rights and civil liberties.

This actvity will strengthen and sustain human rights in post-EuroMaidan Ukraine by helping protect and empower human rights organizations and rights defenders as well as uniting them in a strong network.Monitor and report on human rights violations in Ukraine (in particular in relation to Crimea and the conflict-affected east).Provide strategic litigation in human rights cases.Raise citizen awareness by promoting human rights education in academic institutions and schools.Strengthen Ukraine's first national human rights educational and resource platform, the Chernihiv Human Rights House.
