The project approaches the challenges of providing inclusive education in superdiverse multilingual contexts (MLE) from a language and semiotic resource perspective.
The network brings together scholars from several ongoing projects that explore innovative solutions for understanding and solving issues related to knowledge access and communication in MLE contexts.
We identify three primary points of focus: Firstly, we want to advance the knowledge of analytical and theoretical models aimed at gaining a more holistic understanding of issues related to knowledge access and exchange in MLE contexts. Our second focus is on innovative pedagogic designs, methods and tools aimed at increasing knowledge accessibility.
Finally, the network aims to open up for mutually beneficial knowledge exchanges between the Global South, where superdiverse multilingual education (MLE) contexts have long been the norm, and a highly technically and materially advanced Global North, which, on the other hand, is relatively ill prepared for a new superdiverse situation resulting from increased global and social mobility.
Included are researchers who lead projects related to various aspects of inclusion, such as language supportive pedagogy, AI-solutions for e-tutoring in local African languages, multimodal approaches to pedagogic designs, and innovative methods for analysing listening comprehension in MLE contexts.
The network will bring together scholars from various parts of Africa, Europe and Asia.
