Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project is to prepare and organize Swedish partners´ research participation in Emission Free Pulping (EFP), a Finnish-Swedish industrial initiative. This includes participation in research discussions, research forums and EFP´s steering group meetings.

In EFP challenges the industry together with the academy the chemistry & the unit operations used in today´s fiber production. The aim is to radically increase the total carbon yield & reduce the formation of carbon dioxide. Expected results and effects:

A functioning Swedish EFP organization with coordinated research and collaboration plans that are connected and serve EFP´s purposes.

A good platform for further strengthened and developed collaboration between Swedish and Finnish research actors in the current subject area. Approach and implementation: The work is divided into two work packages: 1. Coordination of Swedish EFP & collaborations with Finland. - A Swedish EFP organization is created

- A plan for cooperation with Finland is created - The Swedish research content is improved so that activities are connected - Information dissemination 2. Preparation for operation & control - A "year wheel" for EFP´s implementation is created - Implementation of a Steering Group meeting - Implementation of a Research Forum (November 2024)
