A common digital assistant for the Swedish public sector – Stage 2

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to further develop and test the idea of a common digital assistant for the public sector. The focus of this stage is on scaling up and expanding testing. The goal is to investigate whether employees can save time, increase the quality of their texts or feel relieved by using it. The project will also focus on education and value creation, data generation and collection, as well as legal innovation and regulatory compliance.

Expected results and effects:

One of the most important results is an evaluation of the potential for a common digital assistant to contribute to more efficient and quality-oriented delivery of textrelated work in the public sector. In addition, the project will identify and document use cases for generative AI in the public sector, increase knowledge and understanding of generative AI and its opportunities and limitations in the public sector, and develop a handbook for responsible AI use in the public sector.

Approach and implementation:

Management and coordination will be handled by AI Sweden, who will also be responsible for the further development of the prototype and technical infrastructure. Data generation and collection will be done in collaboration with participating organizations, and training and implementation support will be offered to end users. The project will also include an investigation into possibilities for long-term operation and development, as well as an evaluation of the project´s results and effects.
