Purpose and goal:
RanLOS has developed a reliable and cost-effective system for measuring antenna parameters and wireless communication performance.
RanLOS will investigate how the system can be adapted for defense products. As combat vehicles become autonomous, stable communications that are protected against interference and difficult to detect are required. RanLOS systems can play an important role by offering a simple solution to test and optimize antenna and wireless performance also in the defense sector.
Expected results and effects:
By initiating discussions and collaboration with actors and companies in the defense sector, we expect to better understand the needs, requirements and wishes on test and measurement systems for wireless communication. With this information, we expect to be able to adapt RanLOS test and measurement technology to the needs and eligibility requirements of the defense industry. Done right, this can accelerate the development of robust and reliable autonomous combat vehicles and systems.
Approach and implementation:
The work is laid out as a project with several parts. Initial step is an analysis of the needs, which is performed as a feasibility study. A GAP analysis is then carried out to investigate what development is required to adapt RanLOS measurement and test system to the defense sector. The development is then broken down in detail, after which a test model is produced. The test model is verified against the requirements. Close contact with potential customers is maintained throughout the project.
