Purpose and goal:
In this project, we will apply our pioneering silicon (Si) photonic microelectromechanical system (MEMS) sensor platform to realize an optically operated sonar array. Furthermore, we will explore if navigation-grade optical gyros can be implemented in the same platform. Expected results and effects:
An optically operated sonar-array sensor demonstrator based on our Si photonic MEMS platform for application in AUVs. Approach and implementation:
The team at KTH will design, fabricate, and evaluate the sensors. The team at Saab will provide input on specifications and assist with characterization.
