Purpose and goal:
EXPEED is led by Chalmers in close collaboration with GKN Aerospace and aims to seek potential in co-utilizing system modeling and design methods and tools developed at NASA (US), Cranfield University and Cambridge University (UK ) as well as CHALMERS and GKN Aerospace (SE) The goal is to identify, cross-fertilize and sample a set of existing
tools available as well as clarifying deficiencies. Potential for continued development is expected, including how a reference model can be used. Expected results and effects:
Expect to foster collaboration between leading aviation research actors within advanced system modeling and system design in Europe and the USA and lead to proposals for continued and scaled-up joint research activities. As all actors have strong relationships with the respective countries´ aviation industry, both military and commercial, and are in several cases customers or partners with, for example, GKN Aerospace. Effective research and development efforts are expected to be strengthened.
Approach and implementation:
Through a number of joint workshops, online and some gathered on site, i) identify potential methods and tools publicly available via partners, ii) define reference cases/examples used to iii) conduct initial application studies and iv) compile the potential assessment and suggest a way forward.
