Purpose and goal:
The project aims to increase the state of knowledge and bring together the actors and resources that exist in the field of high temperature composites within Europe. The project will gain knowledge of these materials´ basic properties such as mechanical performance and processability in order to be able to assess the potential for use in the aviation industry.
The project will also organize a workshop for knowledge sharing, expansion of networks in the area and for follow-up project in the area. Expected results and effects:
Through its activities, the project will increase the knowledge of these high-temperature materials nationally, but also contribute to an exchange of knowledge among actors within Europe. Mapping of important properties of materials of Phthalonitrile type will be carried out and the results compiled in a report. A workshop will be arranged with the identified the actors within the EU for the exchange of knowledge and experience as well as laying the foundation for further project in the area.
Approach and implementation:
The project will be run and carried out by RISE with the support of aviation industry. The project is divided into three parts. The first work package maps the current situation and collects data on materials through a literature study where the issue of sustainability will also be included to capture that part at an early stage. In the second work package, networking with actors with interest in the field will take place. The focus of the third work package is on material characterization.
