From Test Writing to City Planning: Educational Materials Inspiring Youth to Communicate Visions of Sustainable Cities

Our project aims to transform how young people perceive and engage with climate change and urban planning.

By developing innovative educational resources, we strive to inspire 35,000 middle and high school students and empower 750 teachers during the first year.

Our materials are based on positive future scenarios, focusing on sustainable urban development as a way to address climate challenges and instill hope among school students.We will create visually engaging content, including animations of appealing cityscapes, along with lesson plans and school exercises designed to shift the narrative from climate threats and sacrifices to optimism and action.

This approach is grounded in research showing that positive visions can motivate youth engagement more effectively than fear-based messaging.Our primary target groups are students and teachers, who play a crucial role in shaping future societal norms and policies.

By equipping them with knowledge and tools, we aim to foster a generation capable of envisioning and implementing sustainable solutions that benefit both the city and the individual.Through strategic collaborations with educational actors and sustainability experts, our project not only contributes to Formas´ goals but also to global sustainability goals by promoting informed and proactive citizenship among young people.
