COLLIDE-XR: Collaborative Innovation for XR Accessibility and Development

Purpose and goal:

COLLIDE-XR aims to enhance the accessibility of emerging XR & AI technologies as a strategy to enable companies to exploit XR for sustainable innovation. Accessibility can be pursued by enhancing visualization and interaction aspects, using suitable devices, and integrating relevant content for users to perform tasks. To achieve this goal, the project will forge collaborations with partners in the US who offer solutions targeting these areas, opening opportunities for joint initiatives.

Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to fuel the collaboration between Swedish research and business environments with new technologies and international partnerships. Introducing these game changers in the industry while leveraging Sweden’s sustainability expertise will enable the development of innovative, impactful, and globally scalable solutions that meet customer and societal needs. This potential will concretize in a proposal involving actors in the US to develop prototypes in Step 2 of the project.

Approach and implementation:

The core of the project implementation consists of a visit to Silicon Valley to meet potential partners and identify one or two of them to collaborate with in Step 2. This interaction will generate possible concepts and reveal common interest areas and objectives for future partnerships. During the follow-up phase, further requirements will be defined to draft a project proposal. COLLIDE-XR will also establish additional partnerships to engage with other current and future projects.
