Grant Description

ULTRAFUN’s overall purpose and aims are to i) fabricate, ii) optimize, iii) utilize, and iv) explore very large-scale two-, and three-dimensional spin Hall nano-oscillator (SHNO) networks, for fundamental studies, material characterization, and applications within wireless communication, spectral analysis, and unconventional computing.

The very large 2D arrays of SHNOs that my group has developed over the last decade are a unique platform not to be found anywhere else in the world.

A Distinguished Professor grant would provide us with the funding stability to enhance this platform several orders of magnitude (OOM) along a number of important metrics while using them in entirely novel ways, with tremendous impact on different research areas and society at large.
