SystemsSimplify - System Design for Reducing Regulatory Burden for Farmers

Purpose and goal:

The project "HelhetsEnkelt" has a strategic goal to develop a system design approach that can enable system shifts within the public sector. The example in the project focuses on reducing the regulatory burden for farmers, a complex issue involving many actors. By piloting methods to measure and track system effects, the project aims to develop models that can be applied to address similar societal challenges in the future.

Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to lead to improvements in how regulations are managed within the agricultural sector by reducing the administrative burden. New methods will be developed to more effectively measure system effects, allowing for better follow-up and management. The project will also develop a model that can be applied in other sectors facing similar challenges. Lessons learned from the project are expected to create conditions for addressing complex societal issues.

Approach and implementation:

The project will last for 18 months. Work package 1 focuses on gathering relevant actors, including farmers and authorities, and mapping the effects of regulations through studies and workshops. Work package 2 is aimed at strengthening the service system with activities like workshops and prototyping, with local pilots in collaboration with regional authorities. Work package 3 evaluates the capacity built during the phase, while work package 4 manages project leadership, reporting and follow-up.
