The introduction of spatially resolved transcriptome methodologies has revolutionized the study of tissue.
The spatial approaches have provided a more comprehensive understanding than previous bulk and single-cell analyses, describing, for example, the heterogeneity of tumors, their microenvironment, and the overall cellular architecture.
This proposal aims to develop cutting-edge spatial technologies to bring forward a conceptually new set of tailored tools in spatial biology. Several envisioned tools are geared toward biology challenges, such as cancer heterogeneity.
Our goals are:• development of technology and creation of a research infrastructure hub• re-engineering of barcoded surfaces to allow for multimodal analysis • tailor spatial tools for clinical applications in cancer• build 3D visualization tools for spatial data
