Grant Description

Purpose and goal: ** Denna text är maskinöversatt **

The project aims to clarify how privacy protection legislation and municipal and regional regulations are applied when using immersive technology and biometric data. The focus is on the processing of employees´ biometric data for educational purposes. The goal is to identify clear rules to facilitate innovation and reduce the risk of legal barriers, benefiting both the public and private sectors in the use of immersive technology.

Expected results and effects:

The project is expected to reduce the uncertainty surrounding the regulations for the use of biometric data with immersive technology, which could lead to increased use and investments in this area. By clarifying what is permitted from a regulatory perspective, innovative solutions are promoted in municipalities and regions, and gender equality and inclusion in educational environments are strengthened.

The results will contribute to a safe and effective learning environment, as well as potentially reduce the climate impact by replacing travel with virtual education. Approach and implementation:

The project is carried out in collaboration between Södertörn university college, Region Stockholm, Huddinge municipality, Framvik Produktion AB and Lindskog Malmström Advokatbyrå. Through real tests, it is analyzed which biometric measurements can be collected, stored and used. Legal analyzes are performed in parallel to ensure that the collection and use of data complies with laws and regulations.

The project includes several meetings, tests and evaluations under 2024-2025, and ends with a report that is distributed to relevant actors.
