Testing together! Co-creation processes for climate change through place-specific test beds

The project is based on, and further develops, the FORMAS-project "A co-creative process for sustainable mobility".

In the preparatory project, citizens´ travel practices were studied in Åhus and Gamlegården, two places with different geographical and socio-economic challenges. Based on the results, the idea of basing the project in these two geographical locations is expanded upon.

In this extended project, we intend to more broadly test how we can carry out a just and inclusive climate transition through co-creation and place-based activities.

This is done by basing the project on a quadruple helix model, where the municipality, academia, business and the citizens are central for the climate transition processes.The purpose of the project is to test climate transition in places with different pre-conditions through co-creative processes where the citizen is at the center.

The two places form testbeds for place-based solutions and develop ideas on how Kristianstad can drive climate transition.

The three focus areas are energy, transport and food.The project will, through co-creative processes, increase the knowledge about types of place-adapted activities and climate change transition  on a group level and an individual level.

The project will also explore and identify specific activities that contribute to a fair climate transition and generate new knowledge and methods for how citizen involvement can be incorporated into municipal processes.
