Cities and regions in Sweden are working to coordinate and integrate their vehicle fleets for increased efficiency. However, the current silo-like use of vehicle fleets can contribute to inefficiency, high costs, and emissions. Regional and municipal vehicle fleets include everything from bicycles and buses to service cars.
By integrating these fleets and making them available to more users, resource utilization can be improved, which is expected to reduce climate impact and increase perceived accessibility.
The project consists of four work packages that follow implemented innovative mobility services, and develop the basis for new concepts aimed at investigating system effects of integrated vehicle fleets for new mobility services, with a focus on resource efficiency and social sustainability defined as perceived accessibility.
Perceived accessibility helps us reach the project’s goal, which is to understand how sustainable transport solutions can improve users’ ability to live the life they desire as well as perform the everyday and work-related travel they need. This insight is then used to develop new mobility solutions with integrated vehicle fleets.
