The public housing company Eidar is refurbishing their 290 flats in Bäckelyckan.
In CIRA 2.0 we will implement the CIRA-process, developed in the pilot study Circular and inclusive renovation of the public housing in Trollhättan - towards climate neutrality and social sustainability in the renovation of Bäckelyckan.
This is a unique possibility to test and develop the process so that it can be upscaled and applied also in future projects, locally as well as nationally, without special funding.CIRA 2.0 explores the borderland of climate neutrality, social inclusion, and circular economy with emphasis on how residents can contribute to and be included in the implementation of circular methods and processes for renovation and refurbishment of public housing.
The project explores how circularity and recycling can be used as possible tools to achieve climate neutrality and social inclusion.CIRA 2.0 connects practice-oriented research, experience, and skills from housing and real estate along with the knowledge and experience from the residents to create sustainable and long-term conditions for a circular and inclusive refurbishment of public housing.
The project aims at creating long-term conditions for a climate neutral and inclusive Trollhättan, as well as a model that can be adapted by other housing companies. A model where circular renovation contributes to an economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable refurbishment.
