Grant Description

The project will result in the development of a tool and knowledge for effective and sustainable climate adaptation in existing urban environments.

The tool will assess risks across multiple climate aspects and prioritize action areas where overlapping factors can be addressed simultaneously.

By creating a smart AI tool that promotes greenery in cities, the project contributes to establishing green areas where they provide maximum benefit cost-effectively.

The tool, developed by a team of computer science and water/environment researchers and specialists, collaborates with stakeholders from various municipalities to ensure practicality.

The project’s goal is to help cities adapt to climate change and achieve sustainability through optimized land use and green space organization.

In the long term, the tool may influence other land uses, such as parking standards, by demonstrating the benefits of converting spaces into green areas.

The proposed solution is scalable and adaptable to cities both within and outside Sweden, maximizing its impact on urban sustainability.
