In response to the increasingly urgent need for comprehensive climate-smart renovations for detached houses, this proposed project aims to accelerate the renovation of detached houses in Sweden with (i) energy efficiency and (ii) climate resiliency with Climate Smart Renovation (CSR) model through single point contact (known as One-Stop shop).
The model operates with OSS concept integrating innovative finance and insurance packages for the home renovation.
Led by Linnaeus University, the consortium brings together Gävle University, renovation company- Klimatfastigheter Småland AB, IF Insurance Company, Region Kronoberg and finance partners including Nordea and Rison.
The project via the CSR model focuses on the urgent need for renovations that addresses climate change adaptation and mitigation and tackles financing complexities through favorable loans and assure energy savings and quality of the renovation via climate insurance.
It also incentivizes homeowners with reduced insurance premiums and home loan for the renovated houses, promoting sustainable renovations for future. The project will pilot 5-6 house renovations using the CSR model.
Key objectives include streamlining and accelerating renovation processes, improving customer experiences, and ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Planned training programs, networking events and stakeholder workshops will enhance societal readiness helping to strengthen the CSR model and disseminating the model to the larger stakeholder.
