Purpose and goal:
This project aims to explore the potential of and propose solutions for circular supply chain management of electronics (e.g., semiconductors and ECUs) in the automotive chain, which is a crucial component for electrification, automation, and smartification of the transportation sector. The main objective of the project is to explore and propose future strategies for the system.
The intended users of this project are manufacturers and suppliers of electronics to the sector and the wider society that relies on efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation. Expected results and effects: - In-depth analysis of opportunities for circular SC of semiconductors in the automotive industry.
- Increased stakeholder awareness of opportunities for, and sustainability performance of, circularity. - Circularity practice guidelines to enhance the sustainability and resilience of electronics SC. - Scenario planning models of the SC of semiconductors. - Hotspot identification and areas with potential for improvement
- Evaluation of applicability and feasibility of circular solutions Approach and implementation:
The project takes a supply chain perspective and will follow the practices related to the management of semiconductor supply and circular models along the chain. A mix of case studies, Delphi, expert workshops, and scenario planning will be used. The project will identify, describe, and analyse several specific collaborative supply chain transformation efforts towards circularity.
We will search for and/or assess the possibility of a variety of such initiatives being being conducted or planned in practice.
