She is a full professor and a historian of twentieth-century Europe and known as an expert on the Holocaust, Ukraine, women’s history, and atrocity photography.
Professor Lower teaches more broadly on the history of genocide and human rights.Professor Lower, would, in relation to the research strategies, activities and networking at Department of History, Lund university, be a very important resource, based on her international experience and multilingualism and her very good research reputation in the fields of studies of antisemitism, the Second World War, nazi atrocities, biography writing and research about eastern Europe, especially Ukraine. For a number of decades, the Department of history has held a strong position within these fields, and Professor Lower could act as a guarantor for the ability of the department to maintain and further expand this strong position.
In view of networks and contacts Lower could serve as a bridge between Lund university and Claremont McKenna College, California and open for cross-border cooperation.
